<aside> 💡 Nivana’s uncle.

The role of this character was recently taken down a notch by No oppression, but he may still be useful. I’ve always toyed around with how far to make him sympathetic, and I think this is a chance to make him more sympathetic.

Instead of manipulating and imprisoning Nivana, maybe his role could be more neutral. “You need help? Here, I can help you survive through sin.” Instead of the crafty tempter Jakob Damond, the Merchant can be practical. To him it is just business. If played right, maybe such callousness can be more horrific than theatrical malice.
