Extrovert vs. Introvert

One of the biggest questions is whether Millamer is more of an ESTP or an ISTP. That influences what sort of part he plays in the story.

At this point I’m leaning toward ESTP.

Forest home

I’ve always envisioned Millamer growing up as a street urchin, yet I’ve never actually been interested in that storyline, or doing anything with it.

While considering characters to be forest natives for the Forest arc, the idea of Millamer being a former country boy stands out.

His character seems more interesting if his roots are in the country. In a world of dreams and imagination, Millamer is my main man-of-the-earth character. I’ve generally envisioned him having a lowly background compared to the society he attempts to keep, and being a former country bumpkin works just as well as being a former street urchin.

I want his background to be something he is externally ashamed of, but only externally. He doesn’t want city society to see him as a country bumpkin, but when he is in the country he feels right at home. Millamer is adaptable and not picky. When away from city pressures, he has no reason to put on a mask.

The idea further expands his character, where now he is not only street-wise, but country-wise. Wherever he is, he knows the lay of the land. I always envisioned Millamer as street-wise, but it always felt cliche and shallow. Adding this extra dimension turns street-wise into a deeper, more general attribute. Millamer is tactical and savvy. He has a gift for picking up local customs, politics, and quirks.

Agency salesman

💡 Summary: For now, I’m moving away from Millamer being a salesman for the agency.

I’ve been toying with the idea of Millamer being a salesman for the agency, and I may still eventually do that, but there isn’t great chemistry with Millamer and the rest of the agency.

The issue isn’t that he doesn’t fit in, it’s that he’s largely redundant. I’ve struggled to give him a distinct persona in the agency.

There are other areas of Marloth where Millamer automatically works better, and I should probably prioritize those areas.
