The current TWOLD storyline already has plenty of gender-conflict intertwined with magic, but so far little of that conflict is intrinsic to magic.
Is there any way I can make such a conflict more intrinsic to magic?
The primary motivation for this is to help drive the Nivana sorceress arc, though such a mechanism would be useful in general and in future Marloth stories.
None of Nivana’s initial opposition toward magic has been rooted in anything relating to gender-conflict. It would be good if there was a gender-related root motivation.
Nivana feels oppressed by mankind and the story would flow better if her initial campaign against magic is somehow fueled by that frustration.
<aside> 💡 I’ve always been impressed with the way Robert Jordan mixed gender-conflict and magic, at a very low level, particularly how there are male and female sources of magic and each source is wielded differently.

To the woman he said,
"I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you."
