Inspired by Dungeon Keeper and its successors, I’m experimenting with focusing more on having laborers gathering resources as a core game mechanic.
I’ve always enjoyed watching minions moving about the map and performing tasks on their own, but I’ve never liked how every game I’ve seen that mechanic in requires micro-management.
I’ve thought about it before, but I would like a game where characters are busy at work, yet you are not a manager.
