This was a standalone feature but was moved under Surreal.

Definition

When sequential scenes lack plot continuity but make a certain abstract sense, providing surreal transitions from one scene to the next.

It’s important to emphasize that from a rational perspective it has to make no sense.

Surrealism

This is technically a sub-feature of Surreal.

In fact, the more I think about it, I don’t think this needs calling out.

I think this feature is practically derived from other surreal elements and mechanics, particularly juxtaposition.

Example: Alice in Wonderland

One classic example is in Alice in Wonderland, when Alice grows large, cries a flood of tears, shrinks to a tiny size, and finds herself lost in a sea of her own tears. In an immediate sense, the plot is random and illogical, but in another sense, each transition relies on patterns in the ideas and elements.
