Books are very magical in Marloth.

However, they are became overpowered in the first Marloth and either need to be toned down or used sparingly.

In the first book, there was an implicit degree of illiteracy amongst the populace. It was rare that people read books.

I’m finding myself leading toward a similar vane in later stories.
